It has been in the news a lot lately that John Edward's wife has reemergent cancer. I wish them the best, as I do anyone with so serious and frightening a disease. It's heartening to see that many of my favorite blogs,
Rightwing Nuthouse,
Michelle Malkin, and the
Captain's Quarters, amoung many are displaying the appropriate non-partisan tone. I would suggest that in the interest of what is decent, the media, bloggers and politicians should just give them some space, Presidential politicking notwithstanding.
Ed Morrissey has an interesting perspective having dealt with poor health of his own spouse in recent times. Personally, I have been diagnosed fairly recently with a chronic disease (although not life-threatening) with no cure and all I can say is that it was hard enough getting through daily life without a spotlight on me at all times. I can only imagine the strain that the Edwards' are enduring.
